Merrill is an Eagles Hall of Famer, inducted in 2016, Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Famer and two-time Pennsylvania Sportscaster of the Year. He was the 2024 Pete Rozelle Radio-Television Award from the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He's a Temple University graduate.
