The millage, expected to cost taxpayers about 30 dollars annually, will help with operating costs for the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, the Detroit Historical Museum, and the Dossin Great Lakes Museum. Museum officials say they will use the funding to take programming out into the community, provide free transportation for children and seniors, and more.
The three museums will offer free admission from Wednesday, November 4 through Sunday, November 8 for everyone. Starting next Wednesday, November 11, admission will be free for Oakland and Wayne County residents. Detroit Historical Society President and CEO Elana Rugh spoke with WWJ's Christina McDaniel.
