April is Parkinson's Disease Awareness Month. It's the fastest growing neurodegenerative disorder in the U.S., with cases expected to double by 2040. An estimated 1-2% of American adults have it. Dr. Aaron Ellenbogen, neurologist and leader of the Movement Disorder Center at Michigan Institute of Neurological Disorders in Farmington Hills, spoke with WWJ's Christina McDaniel. They discussed the symptoms rarely talked about including dementia, hallucinations and cognitive decline. He also shared words of hope, research-proven methods to slow the progression, and his words for every family facing a new Parkinson's diagnosis.
