Brian McDaniel is a close friend of the program and our official political correspondent. He had to calm Sheletta down on Tuesday night as election results rolled in… Brian and his years of experience knew that the outlying counties of Minnesota often get their votes reported earlier before the big population centers of Hennepin and Ramsey county come in. Sheletta asks about why we don’t have more comprehensive federal voting laws and brings up how much easier it is to disenfranchise voters when voting laws are left up to state law.
To begin the second segment Sheletta asks if any of the results surprised Brian. Brian didn’t expect this blue of a result especially in the Minnesota legislature that has been tied down party lines the last two years. Sheletta asks about what he thinks about voting totals and the issues he thinks had the most impact on voter decisions. Sheletta asks if there was anything Michele Tafoya or Lisa Demuth could’ve done differently.
In their third segment, Sheletta, Brian and Lindsey discuss the names in and out of the mix for the soon to be vacated US Senate seat that’s been held by now Governor-Elect Amy Klobuchar. Sheletta asks what’s next for Governor Tim Walz and how we as Minnesotans come together after such a viscous campaign season.
