Gary D. Hines is the Music Director and Producer of the 3-time, Grammy Award-Winning Sounds of Blackness. Gary is fresh off an amazing performing experience at the Minnesota State Fair this year. He joins us today to talk about his family memoir project focused on telling the many stories of his mother Doris Hines’ life. Sheletta asks about how the title was chosen. Gary speaks with such love and reverence for his mother and what she went through during her life as a singer and mother of six “pearls”.
