Dr. Buffy Smith on rising college tuition rates, Dougherty Family College

Buffy Smith, Ph.D. is a sociologist, educator, and consultant. She earned her B.A. in Sociology at Marquette University and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is the dean of Dougherty Family College and professor of Sociology at the University of St. Thomas. Prices are rising EVERYWHERE. College tuition rates have risen 200% since the year 2000. Dr. Buffy joins Sheletta to talk about the barriers to higher education and which families are often left out. Dr. Buffy says the tuition at the Dougherty Family College at St. Thomas is nearly the same today as it was in 2017.
