It was one year ago today that many started their morning amid chaos when Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark and their dog Gilbert were gunned down in their home in the early Saturday morning hours in Brooklyn Park - along with Senator John Hoffman and wife Yvette being shot in their home as well and what could have been more political leaders.
