Iran playing the Economic war, America is playing kinetic war

00:02 All right, let's go to the WRD talk line. We'll talk to Brian in Gaffney. How you doing, Brian? Hey, Charlie, I don't agree with uh Joy Reid and I don't want Iran to win the war. Robert Kiyosaki said that Iran is playing an economic war while the United States is playing a kinetic war. And the longer they're in it, they're winning. If they're not losing, then they're winning because the United States can't take them out right now. 00:31 And Iran is winning the economic war by controlling the Strait of Hormuz. And it's going to take a lot of uh begging of Donald Trump to get South Korea or England or anybody else to help with the Strait of Hormuz. I don't think it's going to take a lot of begging at all. don't think it's going to take a lot of No, no, no, no, no, no, because remember they're going to benefit from this too. I don't think they will though. Well, then uh screw them. 00:59 Then screw them. mean, I know Keir Starmer is a socialist, then we ought to put massive tariffs off anything that comes through the Gulf of the Strait of Hormuz and show them exactly they're there. Trump is already exposing the lily-livered, do-nothing nations out there, like Canada, like France, like England, the ones that were supposed to be. Did you know that France is harboring Iranian regime members right now? I mean, not France, Canada. 01:30 I'm sure they are. This is a war that we shouldn't have been in though. is going to happen like Vietnam. No, it is not. I guarantee you it's not. It's only been two weeks. We just took Karg Island. The north, east and west of Iran are mountains. The only way we can get in is through the south and we're getting 2,500 Marines to go there. Just like Vietnam, they'll get 5,000 to help them and then 10,000 more after that. This is a big mistake. Okay. 01:59 All right, we'll see, Brian, we'll see. Hadn't been a mistake so far. just took... This whole thing, let me tell you something. You know why this thing is the way it is? Because right now, you know who Donald Trump is really worried about? The people of Iran. He's worried about the people of Iran. Now, if we were at war with the people of Iran, this thing would be over with. 02:27 You go in, he could take out their entire electric infrastructure right now. He could have blown up all of Cargillian instead of the military installations that they had there. He could have taken it all out, but he didn't. All of this waffling that I'm seeing from a lot of Republicans, so-called Republicans out there, is very unappetizing to me. 02:54 I just had a text they're talking about, oh, we're sick and tired of Donald Trump. Donald Trump lied. We need a true MAGA leader. Oh, do we really? Well, there was a poll that was done by YouGov slash The Economist that say that 91%, 91 % of MAGA supporters approve of President Trump's actions in Iran. 91%. 03:22 Among all Republicans, 83 % approved. So don't give me this, know, oh, MAGA doesn't like, no, you're wrong. You're wrong. As usual, you're wrong. So CNN recently did a poll and I know they hated to report this, but here's what it was. Are voters feeling about Democrats right now? Yeah, I mean, Democrats in the minds of the American public. 03:49 are lower than the Dead Sea. What are we talking about here? Well, let's take a look at the net approval rating for Democrats in Congress. You said it, Kate Baldwin, the lowest ever. Look at this. Overall, they are 55 points underwater. Their approval rating is south of 20%. It's even worse when you look at independents. Look at this, negative 61 points. That means that their approval rating is 61 points lower than their disapproval rating. Quinnipiac has been polling this question for the better part of the 21st century. 04:19 They have never found Democrats, at least those in Congress, in worse shape than they are right now. Worse than ever. Now, once you think about this, Democrats are worse. They have the lowest approval rating that they have ever had in the history of the Democrat Party. 04:39 and the Republicans still can't beat him. Why? Because you've got a bunch of rhinos in Congress. We still can't get the SAVE Act. They're giving away their power. That's something the Democrats never ever do. They never give away power. John Thune is just handing it over to him. 05:04 Democrats have one little piece of power in the Senate, and that's the filibuster. And I get all these people going, Charlie, Charlie, what's gonna happen when the Democrats get back in power and they don't have the filibuster? It's gonna be, well, here, you've got one of two choices here. You can either remove the filibuster now when it will help you m 05:33 or the Democrats are going to remove the filibuster and it will never help you ever, ever, Forget about it. They're just handing over the power to the Democrats. How much power they, let me tell you, oh, this is going to shock you. 05:55 This is going to shock you. 05:58 President Trump's first year in office, second term, first year. The lowest amount of bills passed in modern history. 06:10 Joe Biden had 122 bills passed his first year of his second term, or his first year of of a term. Obama had 125 passed. 06:24 Bush had 109 passed. Donald Trump, 38, 38. 06:35 38 bills. 06:39 Donald Trump's bill signing pen is still full of ink. 06:45 everything that he has done, everything from turning around the economy, yeah, no gas prices, yada yada, from doing what we've done, bringing in all of those tariffs, all of that stuff, that was all executive order. Congress had very little to do with that. Yes, they passed the one big, beautiful bill, but now where are we? Look at where we are now. Now we've got the government shut down again. By who? The Democrats, or should I say by whom? The Democrats. And John Thune. 07:17 You've got the power in the Senate. You just, they just don't want to use, I swear to you, I don't think Republicans like to govern. I really don't. Yeah, I think they'll like to sit back and complain and moan and whine about the Democrats, but they don't like to get out there and actually do anything. 07:39 38 bills in the first year of President Trump's presidency. That's it. That's all they sent to his desk. It's been over 70 years to find fewer bills sent to a president's desk by Congress. That should tell you everything about what President Trump is dealing with. We'll be right back. This is the Charlie James Show, News Talk 98.9, WORD, the voice of the Carolinas.
