On The Charlie James Show, newly elected Greenville County School Board member Becky McLaughlin joins the program to recount her late-night, nerve-racking election win and share plans to pair her decades of experience with fellow newcomer Rob Giles's passion during upcoming orientations. After congratulating her, host Charlie James criticizes Democratic campaign rhetoric, claiming politicians weaponized "affordability" concerns only to abandon the subject post-election. Reading an article about a consumer spending $32 for an Arby's sandwich through Uber Eats, James argues that modern cost-of-living frustrations often stem from lifestyle conveniences, subscription services, and recurring delivery fees rather than true lack of affordability. The segment wraps with a call from Darryl, a DoorDash driver who validates the host's point by sharing how much customers routinely spend on delivered meals across local neighborhoods.
