Philadelphia city council’s first session in three months got off to an exciting start, with an abrupt interruption after authorities found a suspicious bag and evacuated City Hall.
The Philadelphia Sheriff's Office says a deputy was attacked by a dog while serving an arrest warrant in Northeast Philadelphia this morning. According to officials, it happened around 8am along Colony Drive near Holme Avenue in the city's Holme Circle neighborhood. The dog bit the deputy several times in the leg. The Sheriff's office says the deputy discharged his firearm at the dog. He is being treated at an area hospital. His condition is not being disclosed. We also don't know if the dog was wounded or killed in the incident. Two men and a woman were arrested on warrants from Delaware and Bucks counties.
