The KYW Newsradio All Local on Friday, Oct. 16, 2026 (evening edition):
U-S Representative Brian Fitzpatrick has released a statement, a day after a man was charged with threating the Bucks County Congressman, unless he sent money to cover the man’s prescription drugs.
Federal investigators are trying to figure out who sent letters containing "suspicious substances" to lawmakers and election offices across the country. The Postal Service intercepted a suspicious letter addressed to the Pennsylvania Department of State. And Delaware's U.S. Senators, as well as a state elections office, received letters containing white powder.
Law enforcement sources tell KYW Newsradio that bones found on the property of the so-called house of horrors in Olney are NOT human. The Philadelphia Medical Examiner has been at the home multiple times this week for similar discoveries that turned out to be animal bones. Investigators also found a safe inside the wall of the home that law enforcement sources say contains items of evidentiary value. Philly Police and the FBI are searching the property on Chew Avenue to try to figure out what happened to seven missing women. The home used to belong to the late R.C. Horsch. Police say he preyed on women struggling with addiction and used them in his violent pornography. Horsch's son Eugene also lived there. He is in federal custody on firearms and drug charges. Earlier this week, investigators tested the home for potential blood or other DNA evidence, and have taken some samples for further testing.
Fundraising efforts are underway to support the families of the Philadelphia police officer killed in the line of duty over the weekend and the officer who was wounded.
The years-long repaving and improvement project on Route 70 in Camden County is coming to a close, and the last step will be planting new flowers and shrubs in the median.
