Andy Luger is a partner at the Jones Day law firm and a former U.S. Attorney for Minnesota. To start their visit Chad asks Andy about how he met and married his wife and the type of couple they are. Chad brings up a previous bet where Andy’s belief in JJ McCarthy got the best of him.
In their second segment, Chad and Andy wade into legal topics. They start with the Lindsay Clancy trial in Massachusetts. Andy talks about hung juries, reasonable doubt and the merits of reaching unanimous decisions despite the difficulty. Chad asks how the approach is different to those trying fraud cases and if we should have more cameras in the courtrooms. They then shift into the recent developments in Vance Boelter’s case.
In their third segment Chad and Andy start with the ongoing local discourse and focus on Somali gangs. They also talk about the Feed Our Future case, fraud numbers and share cocktail party social strategies.
In their final segment, Chad and Andy run through a few more ongoing legal cases including if there will be charges brought against those who killed Renee Good and Alex Pretti. Andy says he doesn't trust this administration to do anything.
