Politicians bear the responsibility for the state of our elections. While Republicans often remain overly courteous, Democrats tend to adopt the polar opposite approach. The civility that once characterized electoral contests vanished years ago, transforming them into a battleground. Ultimately, one must question the extent to which they will actually fulfill their campaign promises. The electoral process in California is currently in disarray. Because the state lacks voter I.D. requirements and permits mail-in voting, officials are unable to provide a timely vote count, even though five days have passed since the election. Furthermore, the reliance on mail-in ballots creates opportunities for election fraud through the use of deceased individuals' names and fraudulent addresses.
