Rob O'Donnell talks about Mayor Paige Cognetti stating that Scranton has over 230 cameras. The fact is there are at least 28 cameras watching you with ALPR capabilities. 28 documented ALPR cameras (by all vendors) in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Via the flockcamera App & findingflock dot com. This figure comes from recent community mapping based on OpenStreetMap/DeFlock data as of mid-October.
The breakdown by brand is:
• Genetec: 24
• Flock Safety: 2
• Motorola Solutions: 1
• Neology: 1
These are fixed cameras with automated license plate reading capability, mostly mounted on traffic signals and monitoring public roads.
