My friend got a rescue over a year ago & he's precious but completely untrained so it's impossible to have a conversation around him. I want to tell her how annoying this is but don't want to make her feel bad.

Pets are the best and dogs in particular are amazing, in my opinion. I love cats, too, just not the litter box. And if you're not prepared to train an animal you should not own one. You get out of the experience what you put into it and at the start, you've got to put in a lot of energy and effort.
