Geva truly has it's finger on the pulse of what's going on in socoeity, and The Roylae is another testament to their genius. The story of a boxer coming into his prime and taking on the greatest challenge of his career, physically, socially, racially and mentally. It's an intense story told in the most imaginative way, and I've had the honor of being able to speak with Lisa Tharpes and Jamal James about their roles in the play and what it means to them to represent such fearsome characters in a play that speak to us so loudly today. Don't forget to see the play for yourself, on the Fielding Stage until April 28th. Get your tickets at GevaTheatre.org!
