Chicago Police arrested Gerald Pittman last July on a Blue Line Train for drinking and smoking and carrying a loaded revolver.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says Pittman was legally prohibited from having a firearm because he previously was convicted of multiple felony offenses including drug trafficking.
This month, a judge sentenced the 39-year-old Pittman to three years in prison.
