Illinois ranks 20th among states in overall child well-being, according to the 20-26 KIDS COUNT Data Book.
The ranking reflects performance across 16 indicators in these four domains: Economic Well-Being; Education; Health; and Family & Community.
Illinois' highest placement in the report is in education where it ranks as the 7th-best state in the U.S..
