The lawsuits against Coco Robotics and Serve Robotics claim that some of their robots use technology that scans hands, faces and bodies of people receiving the deliveries and of bystanders without their consent.
The lawsuits claim both companies are in violation of the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act.
Channel 7 reports Coco Robotics says it has not collected biometric data in Chicago.
Serve says its delivery robots "use cameras and sensors to navigate the sidewalks of Chicago safely", but that data is not used to identify people.
