For many years, Vamarr Hunter purchased cookies from the Give Me Some Sugah bakery on 71st Street in South Shore.
In 2022, Hunter discovered that the store owner, Lenore Lindsey, was his birth mother who gave him up for adoption.
It was a shock to Lindsey as well.
When Lindsey later underwent breast cancer treatment, Hunter helped run the bakery, and now does it full-time.
The true story now is the subject of a movie titled "Give Me Some Sugah".
Some of the scenes were filmed in Millennium Park and in the South Shore neighborhood,
The movie will debut on Netflix on December 16th.
