This week, United announced it will fly 650 flights a day this summer at O’Hare, which is an 11% increase from last year.
The FAA's intervention puts United and American back where they started before each carrier threatened to continue to greatly increase flights following a reallocation of gates at O'Hare under its new “fly-it-or-lose-it” policy.
The recent battle between United and American led to O'Hare returning to being the nation's busiest airport by number of flights.
