Where are they? | The Olney House, Part III

What does the Olney House represent? To true crime fans fascinated by the investigation into Raymond “R.C.” Horsch; his son, Eugene; and their residence at 417 Chew Avenue; the home has become a spectacle of sorts. A destination for gawking and capturing social media content, an interruption for neighbors who were accustomed to the relative peace and quiet of an inner-city, North Philadelphia block. For families and friends of the victims police believe were lured to the site by the elder Horsch, the house has somber symbolism. It could very well been where their loved ones took their last breaths, a place that provides little closure to the end of troubled lives. Join KYW Newsradio Crime & Justice Reporter and Gone Cold podcast host Kristen Johanson as she explores what the Olney House means to various groups of people. She also speaks with a pair of veteran Philadelphia crime reporters about the history and appeal of true crime content, as well as a grief counselor who offers perspective on the toll homicide cases take on victims’ families. Check back for future installments in this ongoing limited series. Philadelphia police encourage anyone with information about the Olney House, or the men associated with it, Eugene Horsch and Raymond Charles Horsch, to come forward. The department tip line is 215-686-TIPS (8477). The direct line to the homicide unit is 215-686-3334. 125 FBI agents.
