Hosts Marc Cox and Kim St. Onge cover major local news during the St. Louis Morning Brief, starting with a 17-year-old girl shot on Highway 170 near Overland who subsequently crashed her car, causing massive traffic delays. They review newly released body camera footage from St. Louis County Police detailing a September 1st incident on Weidman Road where officers shot a 19-year-old pointing an un-marked replica BB gun. The segment also highlights upcoming weekend political demonstrations across various regional cities including Wentzville, Clayton, and Washington, Missouri, while promoting registration details for 97.1 FM Talk's Get Out the Vote election event held at Dave & Buster's. The segment concludes with a report on an Edwardsville traffic stop involving a vehicle clocked at 109 mph carrying unbuckled children, alongside lighthearted observations on speed traps and highway signage in Germany.
