Why aren't we willing to call out politicians on our own side?

Jason talks about a Maine Senate candidate being on the edge of dropping out of the race over sexual assault allegations, and the Democrats who are flipping after having previously endorsed him. There were red flags - why do we just ignore them when it's "our guy/gal"?
