After an investigation into an active shooter report at East Stroudsburg University earlier this week, it was determined to be a hoax.
The university announced that on Wednesday night, a call went to 911 reporting an active shooter at a residence hall on campus. All available university, local and state law enforcement agencies responded.
The school says a door-to-door check was carried out at the residence hall and no threat was found.
Authorities identified the person who made the 911 call, who is said to be helping with the ongoing investigation.
