An unlikely bond has formed at Six Flags Great Adventure.
A 2-month old baby bison named Gertie and a 1-year-old kangaroo named Penny are best friends.
Photos and videos provided by the park show Penny grooming and loving on Gertie. It's become a daily routine.
Safari director William Rives says they genuinely enjoy being together, but it won’t last too long as both animals will eventually transition to their next chapter at the safari.
