First responders were called to a summer camp at the Louis H. Farrell Elementary School in Rhawnhurst Monday afternoon after students reportedly ingested a food preservative inside a classroom.
In a letter to the school community obtained by KYW Newsradio, Farrell's assistant principal stated students found small bags containing a food preservative. 911 was called. The assistant principal said several students tasted the substance and one child ingested it.
