Former Berwyn teacher sentenced for having sexual relationship with student

A former teacher at a high school on the Main Line has pleaded guilty to having a sexual relationship with a student and giving him marijuana. Michelle Mercogliano, 36, will spend 15 months behind bars. She admitted to having sex with a 16-year-old student at Conestoga High School in Berwyn, where she worked as a special ed teacher. After she is released from prison, Mercogliano will be on supervised probation for at least six years and must register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law. (Illustration by Getty Images)
