A former Philadelphia security guard has been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter for fatally punching him outside a gay club four years ago.
Kenneth Frye, 27, was acquitted of the more serious charge, third-degree murder, for punching Eric Pope outside Tabu Lounge and Sports Bar in the Gayborhood in April of 2022.
Authorities said Pope had been kicked out of the bar, and got into a tussle with Frye. They say Frye punched Pope, and Pope died a few days later.
The trial lasted a few hours with a handful of witnesses and video of the incident shown to jurors.
