A former immigration officer from Delaware County charged with bribing immigrants pleaded guilty on Tuesday.
Authorities say Amara Dukuly of Brookhaven admitted in federal court that over the last decade, he took bribes from immigrants and promised to help them with their status.
In one case, took $6,000 in bribes from someone to remove a ‘terrorist’ reference to their immigration record and instead ‘clean’ his file.
He will be sentenced in July and faces up to 15 years in prison.
