Girls' flag football is now an official sport in schools in New Jersey. It's the 21st state to get on board.
Credit to the Eagles -- state athletic officials say the team has been "instrumental" in making girls' flag football happen, working alongside the Jets and the rival Giants.
Birds owner Jeffrey Lurie says he believes in the sport's "ability to grow and create meaningful opportunities for young female athletes."
Two years ago, the Eagles and Steelers teamed up to make girls' flag football an official school sport in Pennsylvania.
The NFL is developing a professional flag football league for women and men.
