This weekend marks five years since a hit-and-run in North Philly killed a mother and seriously injured a 3-year-old boy.
A vigil was held Saturday to honor Rebecca Malave and her son Armani, and to renew their call for justice.
The two victims were out walking when they were hit by the car at Luzerne Street and Rising Sun Avenue. The driver did not stop to help.
Rebecca died a few days later. Armani was hospitalized for months and suffered severe brain damage.
On Saturday, their family returned to the scene of the crime in the Hunting Park neighborhood, bringing white and green balloons and a poster with a picture of the mother and child.
Rebecca's sister Lorraine says the family is desperate to find the driver who committed this hit-and-run.
The family is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the driver's arrest.
