Memorial Day parades throughout greater Philadelphia

Despite the crummy weather, there are plenty of parades and ceremonies in our area in honor of Memorial Day. Doylestown holds the crown for the longest continuously running Memorial Day parade in the country. Today is No. 158. There will be a flag-raising ceremony at Central Bucks High School West, followed by the parade at 10 a.m. In Delaware County, Media has a parade beginning at State and Edgemont streets at 10 a.m. Lower Merion's parade starts at 10:30 a.m. at the township building, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at Saint Paul's Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Over the bridge in New Jersey, there's a ceremony in Cherry Hill at 10 a.m. It starts in the township's community center and will conclude at the war memorial. Then in Philly at noon, there will be a ceremony at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, right off Front and Spruce streets in Old City. (Photo credit: Getty Images)
