Two men from the Philly area have been sentenced to more than three years in prison for conspiring to steal cars, tractors and backhoes.
Authorities say Tariq Bennett, of Philadelphia, and Syheed Goodman, of Upper Darby, and a third person stole nearly four dozen vehicles from dealerships, rental companies and home improvement stores.
In some cases, they would take the vehicles out for test drives, or rent them and then not return them. Or, they would use fake driver’s licenses to purchase the vehicles and then fail to make payments on them.
They then sold the stolen vehicles, sometimes in other states.
