The museum announced the hire of Mitchell Lee Wein as its executive vice president, chief financial officer and chief operating officer.
In the role, the museum says Wein will oversee finances, facilities, operations, risk management, and strategic planning.
Wein is a longtime Philadelphia resident, but arrives at the museum after serving as senior vice president and chief operating officer at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C.
Wein's hire is the latest leadership move from new CEO Daniel Weiss, who replaced ousted CEO Sasha Suda at the end of last year.
Weiss also undid a major rebranding of the museum that happened last Fall under Suda to The Philadelphia Art Museum. Earlier this year, the institution reverted to its original name: The Philadelphia Museum of Art.
