NJ man gets 30 years in prison for sexually assaulting young girl

A South Jersey man who prosecutors describe as a "persistent offender" is sentenced to more than three decades in prison for sexually assaulting a teenage girl in 2023. Jason Bailey of Paulsboro was convicted in April on numerous charges, including aggravated sexual assault and refusing to submit a DNA sample to investigators. Gloucester County prosecutors say Bailey already had a criminal history before these convictions, making him eligible for steeper sentences this time around. He got 30 years in prison for the aggravated sexual assault charge. He'll be eligible for parole once he serves 85% of that sentence, but then he'll have to serve an additional 18 months for refusing to submit the DNA sample. (photo credit: Getty Images)
