Pa., NJ and Del. among several states suing the Trump administration over data sharing

New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware are among a group of states suing the Trump administration over data sharing. The states are trying to block federal officials from sharing personal information of people receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families benefits with ICE or other federal agencies. TANF provides $16 billion annually to low-income families in all 50 states. States are responsible for ensuring eligibility. New Jersey Attorney General Jennifer Davenport says sharing this personal information would erode trust in the immigrant community and deter those legally qualified from seeking assistance.
