People in Norristown and Plymouth Township, Montgomery County, are under a boil water advisory.
Pennsylvania American Water says there was a loss of positive pressure in the distribution system due to an equipment failure. As a result, it says it's possible the water coming from your tap could be contaminated.
The company says the equipment has been repaired and positive pressure has been restored. But before you can go back to drinking your tap water, they have to run additional tests.
So, before drinking, making ice, doing the dishes, or brushing your teeth, boil the water for one minute, then let it cool.
