Redeemer Health has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The company says it's "navigating sustained financial pressure, rising labor and supply costs" among other challenges.
The operator of Holy Redeemer Hospital in Abington Township, Montgomery County, says it is encouraged by offers of support from other Philadelphia-area health systems, but no agreement has been reached.
The interim CEO says the hospital remains fully operational and patients should keep their scheduled appointments.
The company also operates Redeemer Skilled Nursing Care, HR Physician Services and home care affiliates.
The filing comes after the company missed a Sept. 1 payment on $71 million in debt. That led to credit downgrades by major credit rating agencies.
