Residents in Chester County pleaded with local officials to stop construction of a data center in East Whiteland Township.
The developers, Green Fig and Sentinel Data Centers, have received two stop-work orders in the last few months. The most recent order directs them to prove that Aqua can supply enough water to the site.
Water was a chief concern among neighbors at Wednesday night's board of supervisors meeting.
Back in July, the developers were ordered to halt any work that disturbed the soil, because the center is being built on a contaminated Superfund site. Work resumed by the end of the month.
The board said there is not much more it can do to permanently stop construction, because the plan was given the OK in 2024.
The board said it is holding the developers to the terms of the agreement and ensuring the data center is built to those specifications.
