Former Missouri State Senator and Director of the Missouri Workforce Housing Association, Jeff Smith joins Chris and Amy. He's concerned with budget cuts to the Transformative Workforce Academy in Missouri (TWA) which helps people when they leave jail connect to a job. Missouri lawmakers had funding in the budget, but Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe's line-item veto was the result. The Department of Corrections had been in the process of expanding the program across the state. 'It's very penny-wise and pound foolish,' to cut a helpful program, says Smith.
