Aaron Boone’s decision to lead off Trent Grisham has Evan Roberts furious after the Yankees’ season-ending loss. With Grisham struggling at the plate, Evan calls the lineup decision a “fireable offense” and argues the Yankees essentially lost the game before the first pitch by giving one of their worst hitters an extra plate appearance.
Tiki Barber and Shaun Morash join the debate over Grisham’s role, including the decision to let him keep hitting late in the game before he ultimately made the final out of the Yankees’ season. The frustration goes beyond one at-bat as the crew questions why Boone and the Yankees continue trusting struggling players in the biggest postseason moments.
