Allegheny County Council is expected to approve tonight the state's first paid parental leave mandate. The policy requires a minimum of 12 weeks of paid leave for an employee with six months of service who have a baby, foster a child or adopt one. The employer with 15 or more employees must pay regular base pay for at least 12 weeks. Luke Bernstein, The CEO of PA Chamber of Business and Industry told KDKA's Colin Dunlap that this policy will discourage growth and expansion for businesses.
