Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk joined the show. With the Giants losing Jaxson Dart for the season, is it possible the Steelers will get a call from New York? Mike thinks the Giants would prefer a player like Mason Rudolph opposed to Will Howard, since one provides a veteran presence. Mike said we see more QB injuries because they are seeing less and less contact in training camp and the preseason. He believes the timeliness of the injuries is a bit of the fluke, but the league will forge ahead no matter what. We heard a subtle shot from Aaron Rodgers in the direction of Mike McCarthy after the Steelers loss to the Patriots, and it’s similar to what he was saying near the end of McCarthy’s time in Green Bay. Mike doesn’t think it’s out of the question that McCarthy put a gag-order on Joey Porter Jr. questions, which would explain why nobody asked about him. Mike said the Steelers need to ‘find an exit ramp’ with the Porter situation, even if the answer is a trade. Mike compared it to the Micah Parsons scenario again – one that ended in Dallas sending him to the Packers. Mike said the Steelers can either reach a deal or trade Porter.
