The Steelers, along with the rest of the NFL, unveiled their 53-man roster yesterday at 6 pm. What were the big takeaways? Every single rookie made the team, including Eli Heidenreich. There were no Steelers claimed off waivers as of 2 pm today. ESPN says it’s a bad team. Do you agree? It feels like a squad that is headed for a similar destination, but perhaps not the division title they scored in 2025. To little surprise, the Steelers did decide to keep 4 QBs.
The Steelers are 1 of 4 teams that decided to keep 4 QBs. The Browns did as well, but put Dillon Gabriel on IR.
Former Steeler Trai Essex joined the show. The Steelers traded Broderick Jones over the weekend. What went so wrong in his career in Pittsburgh? Trai moved all around the offensive line during his time as a Steeler, but said it’s not something everyone can just do. How much impact did the injury last season play on his future with the team? Trai talked about Jones claiming to weigh around 300 pounds entering camp, but Trai said Jones didn’t really have the body type to easily put on weight during the season. What went wrong with Kaleb Johnson? Trai was intrigued when the Steelers drafted him and was a little surprised by his lack of burst at the NFL level. Trai said Max Iheanachor ‘has to start’ the regular season as the team’s right tackle. Even though Max has missed some time, Trai thinks a good set of practices could see the Steelers 1st round pick starting against the Falcons. The guys wanted Trai’s take on Daejon Love – the man that scammed women all over the US acting as a 49ers WR.
