Kate Winslet revealed that her daughter, Mia Threapleton, was able to follow in her acting footsteps without anyone knowing of her famous connections.

The Academy Award winning actress said her 20-year-old daughter flys “under the radar” during Hollywood auditions because the burgeoning star goes by her father's last name, reported Insider.

"That's been a wonderful thing that I think I knew was coming," Winslet said of Mia's desire to be actress during an appearance on the British talk show "Lorraine." "I think I always suspected. And then sure enough, a couple years ago, she turned around and said, 'I think I would like to give it a go.'"

The 45-year-old revealed that her daughter is currently in the Czech Republic shooting a tv series.

"What's been really great for her is that she has a different surname so that initial job out of the gate, she slipped right under the radar," added Winslet.

"The people who cast her had absolutely no idea that she was my daughter. And of course, that was my biggest fear and most important for her self-esteem."

Winslet shares Mia with ex-husband Jim Threapleton. The "Mare of Easttown" actress was married to the film director from 1998 to 2001.

On a recent episode of WTF with Marc Maron, Winslet opened up about how becoming an international celebrity at the age of 21 “was like night and day from one day to the next.”

Winslet shared that after “Titanic” was released in 1997, she was “bullied” by the press. “I was subjected to quite a lot of personal physical scrutiny, and I was criticized quite a lot,” she said. “The British press were actually quite unkind to me.”

Her pivot to independent films was part of strategy “to be in it for the long game,” said Winslet, noting that it also afforded her the opportunity to “maintain some degree of privacy and dignity."
