During Sunday’s BET Awards red carpet Lil Kim was asked if she’d be down to go head-to-head against another MC, to which she quickly responded “yes.” And when further questioned as to who she’d want to match up with for a battle of hits, she without hesitation succinctly answered, “Nicki.” Of course referring to, Nicki Minaj.

No, time has not reverted back and it’s not 2011, but after the last year and half, what is time really? And yes, we absolutely think that this should happen. “Yes, me too,” Kim responded after the interviewer said he’d love to see the undeniable members of rap royalty go track for track.
While Nicki and Kim haven’t always been close over “identity theft” allegations over artwork, and various other squabbles dating back to 2007.
Despite Kim shutting down the rumors of a feud, we still sense a chill between these two, and we’re not alone. For those of you too young to recall, long before Cardi B threw a shoe at Nicki, Kim was throwing shade her way as exhibited above.
Whether Nicki would be down, is still unknown, but we say it’s time to take out and defrost that beef that’s been chillin’ in the back of the freezer, and turn it into an epic Verzuz battle.
