According to TMZ, who first reported the story, Weezy’s notebook dates back to his days as a member of the Hot Boys.

The iconic notebook returns to the auction block after a five-year long legal battle that began in 2019, when Lil Wayne tried to claim ownership of the property after the online memorabilia site Moments In Time put it up for auction for $250K on behalf of a man who allegedly found it in a car once owned by Cash Money Records. A Louisiana court ultimately sided with Moments in Time after Wayne reportedly didn’t respond to the lawsuit.

Picking up where they left off in 2019, Moments in Time once again listed the notebook up for auction, featuring lyrics from Wayne verses on Hot Boys tracks like “We On Fire” and “I Feel,” both featured on 1999’s Guerrilla Warfare. This time seeking $5 million.

Defending the raised price tag to TMZ, Moments in Time claimed, “Lil Wayne is one of the greatest rappers ever, making his handwritten song notes incredibly valuable.”

Even though some of the pages were reportedly destroyed by water damage, after being stored in a garage flooded by the storms of 2005’s devastating Hurricane Katrina.
