Amid backlash, fans condemned the Philadelphia rapper and his recent behavior. Late Monday night, things hit a new level when Vanessa Bryant expressed her thoughts and feelings, regarding the offensive lyric.

She took to her Instastory to say, “Dear @meekmill, I find this line to be extremely insensitive and disrespectful. Period. I am not familiar with any of your music, but I believe you can do better than this. If you are a fan, fine. There’s a better way to show your admiration for my husband. This lacks respect and tact.”

Many agreed and rushed to co-sign her statement. One user labeled him a “whole clown,” while another criticized those defending the rapper because “bringing up other rappers who have had disrespectful bars in the past does not change the problem of the present time.”

Even WNBA star, Candace Parker, sent out a heartfelt message to Vanessa and her children saying, “Dear @vanessabryant, I’m sorry YOU and your GIRLS have to continually deal with S*** like this. It’s not fair it’s not right! We love you and I am continually am in awe in your ability to take the high [road]...”

After several highly questionable, (and now deleted) tweets from Meek, one tweet even stating, “...it becomes a trend to hate on me every once in a while but I feed off that s*** ima beast…”

Many presumed these were his responses to Vanessa’s statement, but he clarified that he has “apologized to her in private earlier  today, not to the public.” In reference to his earlier tweets, he responded, “Nothing I say on my page [is] directed to a internet viral moment or the family of a grieving woman!”
