Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - The City of North Las Vegas has opened up registration for first-dose appointments Monday, March 1 and Tuesday, March 2 at Canyon Springs High School.

To sign up for an appointment, visit vaxnlv.com or call 702-342-8417. Appointments for second doses are made as soon as the first dose is administered.

Because the 89030 ZIP code has been one of the areas hardest-hit by COVID-19 in Clark County and has experienced low vaccination rates relative to other ZIP codes, City staff and partner organizations focused on contacting residents in these neighborhoods to schedule appointments Friday at NRC through an extensive, bilingual outreach program. Efforts included vaccine registration stations at grocery stores and open-air marketplaces, phone bank operations and door-to-door outreach.

To date, the City of North Vegas has hosted four pop-up clinics at senior apartment complexes and community facilities, vaccinating approximately 1,500 people. Vaccine supplies permitting, additional targeted pop-up sites will be hosted in under-vaccinated areas.

Residents of the 89030, 89031 and 89032 ZIP codes who are 65 years old or older are encouraged to sign up to be vaccinated. These ZIP codes consistently have some of the highest COVID-19 case numbers and are also experiencing some of the lowest vaccination rates in Clark County.
